Chicago has always been a special place for Hardinge as its founding city back in 1890 and after 132 years, 2022 marks another milestone in Hardinge history! That’s because in Chicago, Hardinge delivered one of its best performances during the 33rd edition of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) held September 12-17, 2022, at McCormick Place. It’s estimated that IMTS attracted over 85,000 attendees.
Hardinge’s Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Levenson, complimented the Hardinge team for its strong performance during the show, especially in building new customer contacts. “Engaging these new relationships can be fruitful for many years to come. The show gives us opportunities to turn a potential customer into a long-term partner,” said Levenson.
In representing its 13 brands, Hardinge was told it had the #1 booth relative to its floor space and machine density, comprised of 21 machines. This year’s booth marked the largest display of machines at IMTS for Hardinge in over four decades. Many of the machines on display were first released for the American market, highlighting Hardinge’s commitment to new technology.
Ryan Ervin, Hardinge Chief Marketing Officer/VP of Sales, praised everyone at Hardinge for their teamwork. “Everyone at the company should be proud to be wearing the Hardinge logo on their shirts,” explained Ervin. “Our brand is one that is synonymous with quality, and our management team continues to make the investment for us to be the leader in Machine Tool Manufacturing & Accessories.”
IMTS 2022 enabled Hardinge to highlight its many Turning, Milling, Grinding, and Honing machines as well as its industry leading standard and custom Workholding solutions. “Our new acquisitions of Weisser, Ohio Tool Works (OTW), and WPT were extremely well received by our customers here in America. Our customers are now able to purchase these technologies from a trusted partner and network that can offer industry leading support services,” added Ervin.
The company’s presence at IMTS provided access to many of the largest manufacturers in the world. According to Ervin, the goal at IMTS was to reposition how customers think of Hardinge. “In today’s market, customers desire solution-based products where the machine is much more tailored towards an application. We want our customers to know we can be their trusted partner for the latest technology, and not just a machine tool vendor,” explained Ervin.
For Levenson, Hardinge’s work has only just begun. “We have the chance to continue building Hardinge’s brand not just in America but across the globe. We are committed to being a leader in the machine tool industry and IMTS was a great way to emphasize that to over 85,000 people!”
