KELLENBERGER receives PRODEX AWARD
L. KELLENBERGER & CO. AG has been awarded a PRODEX AWARD 2010 for the development of the new Hauser jig grinding machine wheelhead. The innovative approach aims to provide a pronounced enhancement in productivity as well as a significant increase in achievable processing accuracy in jig grinding. It was the concept as a whole, as well as the remarkably high, dynamic kinematics of the jig grinding machine that can be achieved thanks to the linear drive, which convinced the jury of the Swiss industry prize and are the reason it was chosen for third place.
The organizers were the exhibition company Exhibit & More AG, as well as Vogel Business Media AG and their trade journals SMM Schweitzer Maschinenmarkt and MSM le Mensuel de I’industrie. The award was presented on November 18, 2010, at the international exhibition for machine tools, tool and production measurement, PRODEX, in Basel. 30 exhibitors took advantage of the opportunity of winning this year’s Prodex award. Of the 30 products submitted, the seven-member jury nominated ten for the elimination stage in which the top three places were to be decided. L. Kellenberger & Co. HAUSER jig grinding machines traditionally cater to the niche of highly accurate grinding work in tool and mold fabrication, as well as grinding production of demanding small series. The newly realized HAUSER development aims to provide a pronounced enhancement in productivity as well as a significant increase in achievable processing accuracy. At the same time, the ability to do hard machining by grinding is supplemented with expanded possibilities for fine milling, analogous to HSC milling.
